Release MechanismI use a simple post lift release mechanism in my crossbows. It's not as smooth as a rolling nut, but it is much faster, easier to cock, and plenty accurate for the task required.
Lever A is pulled upward by the shooter, raising the spring-loaded bolt B through the hole C, pushing the string D out of notch E so that the prod F can pull the string forward, slinging bolt G down the bolt channel H and off on its merry way. |
