Tiger Cherry Italian

This is my first attempt at making an italian-style crossbow. I wanted to try a new headblock design, and a few other innovations.

The wood for this one is a piece of cherry that has some very interesting striations in it that give it an interesting and pleasing tiger striping.

I was inspired by some photographs of old crossbows that show very massive, intricately-tied bowstrings. I tried out of the same braided dacron that I use for the bridle. It took *forever* to tie, but the result is quite striking!

I think I might save this one as my personal crossbow.
