This is a smaller crossbow, and this model is about as small as I can
get one that works for SCA combat. The last image shows the difference
between a 'standard' 32" tiller, and this 29" version. The prod
is smaller, too -- about 32" versus the normal 36". Pulls of up
to 100# can easily be accomplished with this model, for ip ratings in the
920-960 range.
The wood used here is a spalted walnut that turned out simply
fantastic. I have little control over this, but every now and then, we get
lucky. It has an oil finish that also turned out very well. In fact,
I am re-thinking using lacquer at all.
